When it became apparent that amputation could possibly save lives. The success ratios weren’t quite as high as they are today.
I’m not going to get into statistics on this as I have seen many different results.
Fact is through experimentation and documentation surgery techniques have been improved Prosthetic limbs have been improved and post care such as physiotherapy, and rehabilitation processes have also been implemented.
Making post surgery a little more bearable than what it was like only a few short years ago.
From the movie you will see here to today is like looking at a different world.
This is eye opener!!!!
The following movie I found on You Tube and thought you must see if you can stomach it.
Be warned there is some graphic detail.
Please don’t watch if war scenes bother you.
This is pretty graphical you have to admit.
I’m showing these films and photos in order to make everyone know what is happening in other peoples lives.
This is the way it use to be.
There are still surviving amputees that have been through this type of surgery.
I hope you will share them too.
Through my research on this topic I have been touched in many ways.
I have found it simply amazing to see what people go through in silence in most cases.
It is only recently that amputees have had the equipment available to allow them to become mobile in a 70%+ capacity.
To achieve this wonderful technology many have suffered through years of pain and incapacity.
It is a wonderful thing that technology has found it a viable market place,
but is it a good thing to have so many amputees to test these advances on?
Below is featured a friend of mine, in the photo he is showing me the bruising he puts up with everyday.

Even with modern legs and the best of surgery, amputees still suffer. Most just do it quietly.
This man actually ran on video approx 4 weeks into my Limbar trials while he was sporting that bruise.
Absolute Legend GG
Research shows that Exercise is reduced with immobility and mobility is reduced without exercise.
I have ample research available to support this, you can find some on this site under Literature Reviews.
The two fall hand in hand. It’s as simple as if you sit down all day you will gain weight.
High blood pressure and Diabetes both respond well to exercise in a controlled manor.
As an amputee it is important to keep fit and to maintain a balanced body weight to make your prosthetic always fit and to remain healthy.
As a large majority of amputations are caused through illness it is even more critical to remain healthy.
It can become very difficult to exercise when you are immobilized.
Therefore one problem can lead to another unless addressed.
This is the reason the Limbar Machine was developed.
Or view our entire products Range.
I hope through the development of these machines, and the publication of the data, it will assist amputees all over the globe by empowering them with the knowledge to be able to maintain their own health where possible.
Please assist this cause by “re-tweeting” or circulating this blog with the buttons below.
I was sent this link by a follower at Twitter, it is amazing where this new technology is going.
Thought I would share it with you.
I would love to hear your comments on this post, any feed back would be greatly appreciated.
