Become Independent Even With Mobility Issues

Post image of Become Independent Even With Mobility Issues

I was walking on my crutches in a shopping centre in the heart of  Sydney  when I observed an elderly gentleman on a mobility scooter stuck and unable to get up a step and into a shop.

Funny enough it was a cigarette store and he probably didn’t need to get any sicker than he already was. But all the same he was determined to enter the store.

The man sat on his scooter for sometime close to the door but unable to enter, asking people as they passed by if they could assist him with the purchase of his cigerettes.

Two things amazed me about this, the first obviously was “why would no one assist this man.”

The second was why is there no wheel chair access in stores all over Sydney.

Then it came to me. Why not have a portable ramp that you can fit on the scooter and take with you.

It took a little research, but i found this and thought i would share it with you.
