Hydraujoint Ltd is a company that was set up specifically to manage the research, design, manufacture, assembly, marketing and distribution etc. of Amputee Specific Rehabilitation and Mobility Equipment.
The company evolved when Stephen Kemp (himself an amputee since 1985 found that there was no suitable equipment available to assist with the rehabilitation of amputees.

As I grew older facing problems every day with the changing of my stump size or painful bone spurs , the need for an exercise device and my plan to build one came together.
Of course every story has a beginning a middle and an end.
I have started somewhere around the middle and we will do the Starwars thing and write back to the beginning as we go forward.
So we needed a name for this great new product my brother and myself had designed.
We thought about it for awhile and came up with .. Hydraujoint .
Remembering this was the name for the product. See what inspired us here http://hydraujoint.wordpress.com/
The need for exercise is well publicised these days, but did you know that it is up to 10 times more important for amputees.
It is essential to stimulate circulation.
An amputee must maintain an average body weight that they are comfortable with carrying.
To avoid stump size change and poor fitting of the prosthetic limb.
As well as maintain a certain amount of mobility and freedom.
The Limbar™ machines were found to assist with maintaining and stabilizing safe blood pressures, another crucial element that must be monitored and maintained.

Limbar Professional
Throughout this site you will find a range of literature reviews that explain the need in depth.
Limbar™ has been designed with all these points in mind by an amputee to suit amputees.
The inside knowledge that only an amputee can obtain has been applied to what works and what is comfortable to use about this machine.
The Limbar™ is a purpose built physical exercise machine specifically designed for amputees to reduce the dissipation of muscle in the residual stump and increase mobility.
The functionality of the great new exercise and rehabilitation device makes it suitable for use with or with out a prosthesis….
Also suitable for an able bodied person for hip or knee post surgery rehabilitation.
Great for strength training or Cardio Exercise,
To avoid groin injury, The Limbar™ has variable resistance throughout the range of motion and is adjustable heights to suit all patients.
Designed specifically for amputees and clinically trialed in New Zealand.
Suitable for both arms and legs and suitable with or without prosthetic limb and able to exercise a wide range of muscle groups.
Designed with assistance by Massey University engineers, professors and students, with input from Otago University, NZALB and MidCentral Health this really is a technological breakthrough.
Easy change of fittings to enable use with or without prosthesis.
Quick release pins allow easy changes of resistance levels
